This disclaimer may scare potential clients away but I think I should still clear the air.

I’m a wordpress plugin developer looking for clients whom I can comfortably work with and who can appreciate my work and time.

Please remember that I’m a programmer first. It really hurts when my time isn’t appreciated and my work is ignored.

I have no idea what a professional businessman should be but I always try to treat my clients with honesty and sincerity, and I hope my clients could treat me the same way.

In plugin development business, TRUST is what I value most while money is always the last one. If you can make me a millionaire, I’ll consider making money on the top, seriously. :]

Indeed, you are choosing developers and I’m also choosing clients too.

What types of clients I like to work with

I like clients who will google before asking me how to zip file in cpanel. I like clients who will pay attention to the plugin video tutorial which I spend some time to make for them. I like clients who can trust me implicitly and won’t hesitate to give me the site credentials.

  • There is an old Chinese saying: Give a man a fish and he can feed himself for a day, give him a fishing rod and he can feed himself for a lifetime. If you ask for my help to zip a file from cpanel, I won’t zip it. Instead I’ll make a simple video showing you how to do it and tell you “you should google before ask me”.
  • If you ask me “where/what is xxx?”, I won’t give you the direct answer and I’ll ask you to re-watch the plugin tutorial video. The video is also part of my work and please appreciate it too.
  • If you don’t want to give me site credentials, I’m sorry that I may not be able to fix the problem if I can’t reproduce it on my end.

I like clients who will say “I really appreciate your work and time”. Most of the time, I’m more motivated by the appreciation than the payment.

I’m very willing to help my clients even though it is not related to the project and even free of charge. However, this kind of willingness is based on that the client appreciates my work.

If you appreciate my hard work, for example, you should pay attention to the plugin tutorial video and instruction text instead of asking me questions that are already described in the videos and instructions. Another example could be pay me on time. :)
